Legal Center Files Reply Brief in Connecticut Public Financing Case
This week, the Campaign Legal Center, which serves as co-counsel to defendant-intervenors in Green Party of Connecticut, et al. v. Garfield, et al., filed a reply brief in support of the defendants’ and defendant-intervenors’ motion for partial summary judgment. This case involves a constitutional challenge to
Connecticut’s public financing system. The reply brief primarily advanced arguments defending the constitutionality of the
Connecticut statutes that banned the solicitation of, and the actual contributions by, lobbyists and state contractors, as well as the prohibition of contributions by family members of lobbyists and contractors doing business with the state.
